FMF Racing has grown
to become the most recognized name in motor sports aftermarket
products in the world. Lots of growth, lots of progress. Motorsports
side of the business was overtaking the FMF empire. Don Emler
concentrate on making more and better products for dirt bikes and
motocrossers. In 1967, Don Emler begins racing on the local level at
Indian Dunes, Saddleback and Bay Mare. In 1968, Emler is sponsored
by US Suzuki as a factory racer. In 1969, Don switches over to
American Eagle factory sponsorship.
The year 1973, FMF is founded; Ray Lopez wins Arroyo 125 World
Championship while Monark factory rider Marty Smith sings on as a
full FMF guy. In 1974, Marty Smith switches to FMF/American Honda
and wins the first AMA 125cc National Championship title. 1975,
Marty Smith repeats as 125 National champion on a factory Honda;
Warren Reid signs to ride FMF Honda. |
